Abbotsford Airport Transfer – A complete guide

This is a complete guide to all the options for transfers between Abbotsford Airport and Metro Vancouver district ordered from the most comfortable option to the cheapest option.

1. Private Vancouver Airport Transfer Service by Ryde

A private chauffeur service will transport you from to/from Vancouver international airport and anywhere in British Columbia or Washington, USA. Rates start at C$75 / hour for a sedan and go up to C$175 / hour for a Bentley, before a 15% gratuity and 5% government sales taxes (GST). A $10 fee is typically charged for airport pickups due to government regulations.

This is typically the most comfortable way to travel, especially when booking with Ryde. You will receive the following amenities included in your final price:

  • Wi-fi for unlimited devices
  • Premium Still Bottled Water
  • Premium Sparkling Bottled Water
  • USB Charging Dock for your Android, iOS, or BlackBerry devices
  • Selection of local, regional & international reading materials

Pre-bookings are recommended since these exclusive amenities are only available when you book directly with Ryde, and not a typical feature for any other limousine provider in British Columbia.

How to find us as you exit the airport?

Once you have made a booking, either by downloading the iOS app, via email, or via phone, a Ryde associate will reach out to you to confirm your flight details.

All Flights A representative of Ryde will hold a sign of your name just as you leave the baggage belt. For your privacy, we can also hold a sign of our brand at your request. Our representative will take your luggage and guide you to your waiting vehicle.

2. Public Airport Chauffeur by Central Valley Limousine

With a 1.8 star rating on Google at the time of publication, you probably want to avoid them entirely!

3. Public Taxi

Taxi charges are as follows:

  • C$3.20 for the first 54.44 meters
  • C$0.10 for each additional 54.44 meters
  • C$0.10 for each consecutive 10.95 seconds or C$32.86 per hour

Traveling out of Abbotsford might be significantly cheaper than booking through Vancouver Airport, however, with such large distances from the closest city, rarely are taxis worth the additional hassle. Fares to Vancouver, Surrey, or Burnaby can exceed C$100 excluding a 10-20% gratuity. Note: The prices vary depending on traffic, time of day, and your exact location.

4. Rental Cars

All major car rental providers are available at Abbotsford International Airport. The following providers are on-site:

  • Budget
  • National
  • Avis

The following providers are off-site:

  • Hertz

On-site car rental agencies charge a Customer Facility Fee of C$3 / day. This fee is in addition to regular taxes and fees, as well as a premium rental location charge of between 15 and 25% for both on-site and off-site agencies. If you are opting for a rental car and will be in Vancouver for multiple days, it is strongly advised you take an alternative transportation option downtown, like Ryde, and pickup a vehicle from a local branch.

5. Hotel Shuttles (Public and Private)

All 4* and 5* hotels in Vancouver offer a private transportation option as well and can be contacted for more information about pricing. Pricing typically starts at C$175 and excludes a 15% gratuity and 5% GST. We typically recommend Ryde, since it will always be cheaper, and your vehicle will come with amenities that are not otherwise provided.

6. Valley Airporter Shuttle

This shuttle service does a pickup and dropoff to your home address. The pricing is as follows:

  • Zone 3: C$45 – 80
  • Zone 1: C$15 – 30
  • Zone 2: C$25 – 50

Although the rates are posted online, they exclude gratuity, taxes and a fuel surcharge that may be charged depending on the day of the event. They also do not guarantee pricing until the vehicle has started moving, since if you are the only rider in the vehicle, a different unknown pricing applies.

Although this is technically cheaper, the unknown rate means you never know what you are going to pay. With Ryde, your payment is guaranteed based on the quoted pricing. On occasions, when traveling with a family, Ryde may be cheaper than the Valley Airporter Shuttle.

7. Public Transit

Unfortunately there is no easily accessible public transportation options at Abbotsford Airport.
